Essex Yeomanry Museum
The Chelmsford Museum in Oaklands Park, Chelmsford is to be enlarged in order to provide space for a display depicting the County Town’s significant industrial past. As part of the project, the existing single storey annex which houses The Essex Regiment Museum will be demolished and replaced by a room on the first floor of the new extension to Oaklands House. It is also intended to provide an adjacent gallery for The Essex Yeomanry Collection which has until now never been on display. The existing Essex Regiment Museum will be closed at the end of 2007 and the new displays are not expected to be on view to the public before the middle of 2009 |
